Come hungry, leave happy. Welcome to Daraβ¨
Dara is a thai restaurant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 1221 Walnut St #8, Philadelphia, PA 19107, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Philadelphia, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Pennsylvania run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 AMβ4 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (267) 876-8107. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, daraphilly.com.
Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 366 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded thai restaurants in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The restaurant was packed so we had the mango sticky rice to go, and itβs DELICIOUS!!! We love the texture and the fragrance of the rice, the ripeness of the mango was just perfect along with all the additional topping they provided. Definitely will come back for the mango sticky rice!

Get the regular stuff like fried rice, any noodle dishes, curry and what not. Great flavor and well made. Chef special items were whatever. You can skip them but good spot to eat at regardless. Donβt get the roasted chicken. Almost inedible and barely βroastedβ at all if it was even roasted in its life.

Great Thai classics done exceptionally well. Sooooo tasty. Great portion sizes. Would advise going with friends so that you can try many items on the menu. All are amazing.

came here for my 35th birthday dinner and everything exceeded my expectations. I was late for my reservation (parking is tough downtown!) and they still honored my reservation with no negative attitude. Service from beginning to end was phenomenal. Food and drink was delicious. Staff surprised me with a small treat for my birthday and that was also delicious. Love that this establishment is BYOB. All of my friends want to come back here! SO so happy I chose to dine here for my birthday; thank you Dara for making my evening a memorable oneπβ¨

Heard such good things about this place, and as my friend and I love Thai food, we absolutely had to go! Food: 5/5. The food was just SO incredibly good. So flavorful and delicious, everything complemented each other perfectly. The flavors were so aromatic, fragrant and prevalent. The presentation was just as beautiful, with the colors, setup, and intentional plating. Highly, highly recommend. Loved everything we got. Service: 5/5. So good. Our waitresses were so attentive, quick, and efficient. They were very friendly and kind and accommodating to us. Atmosphere: 5/5. Absolutely loved it. The interior is dim-lit in a blue and silver/white color scheme. It is quite small but it did not impact our experience. The dΓ©cor was so aesthetically pleasing and it is the perfect place for a more βfancy-ishβ dinner. Overall, this place definitely lived up to its hype! The food was so phenomenal, high quality, and the flavors the perfect balance. Service was quick, atmosphere perfect! Iβm not one to try and go to the same restaurant repeatedly, but I have every intention of coming here again! One of my favorite restaurants in Philly.
